he is alive--her-50% of his if she is full retirement age ( spousal benefits)
he is dead n she is full ret age-100% of his( survivor)

3k(not spousal benefit!) possible but very very rare (survivor)!

He is still alive and will retire in a few years.

I think you either have to work for 35 years or 62 ( for female) to apply for SS benefit

early rib-62/reduce benefit ( own/spousal)

3k is hard even your own, left alone spousal benefits

Unless he will "delay" his rib from full ret age to 70( spouse will not entitle to this credits)

Anyway, 3k is rare ... gotta go

Depending on your taxable contribution.

I know, her husband must contributed a lot.

Có thể cộng thêm 401k mới được. Vì no way her husband can get 6000 a month for her to get 3000 which is half of it
. Or maybe she meant the household income which includes both of them.

I didn't think that was a realistic figure either.

Maybe as a survival spouse she can get that amount

Only about 2% of workers wait to 70 to claim. "

I have no choice but to wait until at least 70 ....
With all that debt, yes you do!!!

Both need to be at the retiring age to receive benefit.

What?! I didn't know you're only eligible if you're not remarried. I don't know about that one!

Hmm..... Until then... Good Luck...

Ps...
