My case is never pay for annual fee. For who ever need credit score for loan, then don't cancel like I do, you will lose 5 points/year. Eventually, you will get 5 points back next year. So every card you cancel, you will lose 5 points. If you pay bills on time and have $50K in checking, your score will stay around 850.

Chase Sapphire:
-Used to reapply every 2 years
-Now, they banned me for 4 years to reapply

The rest of other Visa can reapply every 2 years

Southwest:
-I enjoy companion buy 1 get 1 free to the end of the year
-Price has increase to $100, from my city to Dallas used to cost $280, now $380

If anyone has hard time to make a commitment of $4k-$5K for new visa in 3 months, I suggest to adjust all the bills on the same month such as Home and car insurance. If not enough to cover, you can pay a few months ahead such as phone bill, internet bill, etc...

For whoever going to Home Depot, this is kinda weird. They keep offer to get new card up to $100 saving cash back instantly on the bill. So every time I make a big purchase, they keep sign up me with new card. So far, my account has 4 HD cards Just sign up and charge them the first time to get up to $100 cash back instantly.

I'm curious as how you can get away with the % additional charge for using our credit card to pay property tax.

Btw, i love reading about your travel using miles and advice in cc miles accumulation.

I have over 200K chase mile and i like to fly to Hawaii. I flew Alaska via British Airway and it was great, but their offers now suck. I can't get any flights using the same process. Any advice ?

I have upcoming large purchase, what card should i apply ?

Last year, Plastiq offered no fee for 3 months but max only $250/check. So I had to make 8 checks to mortgage each month The hassle was the mortgage company didn't combine but consider as additional payment so I had to call them every month to ask them to combine as a single payment. Any bill that was more than $250, I made more than 1 check.

And for the property tax, I had to keep sending checks until Dec deadline so it got the total requirement for due date.

I was able to get $15k on Citi AA for all the bills last year on Plastiq. And called AA to wave annual fee but they offered me $50 off only if I spent $200 in 3 months. I already cancelled after spent 2 tickets to Phila.

Today Plastiq offers again for 3 checks up $10K each check for 1.5%. I think it's good deal.

https://milestomemories.boardingarea...s%20processed.

I don't see a lot good promotion offer like the last 10 years. I am pretty much done with these games. When ever there is good opportunity, I will jump in.

How do they know how much you have in your bank account? Does savings count?

Hi Cat Nhi,

It's so good to see you in this forum. Lately I did not go to this forum often because all familiar nicks are gone.

I am a newbie on this miles game, this summer I spend miles or point to purchase ticket to travel.

I used total 280,000 points and it's worth $10,000 of free airline ticket. Do you think I maximize the benefit yet? ( I mostly use it to buy first class tickets) because I think it's most value. For example : economy ticket is $400 but first class ticket is $1500, while I only use double the miles but have triple worth of amount of the money.

About hotel I found Hyatt have the best value and I just focus on hotel on expensive place like paris or tokyo or new york on new year eve. For example I can use 25,000 or 30,000 to book $1000 per night hotel on those area. It make my point more value ( I just do research now, I haven't book it yet). Please share your thought

i mean I cancel every year.

Only the bank knows. If bank gives you good credit, then all the visa companies will follow.

Expensive points transferring on any visa unless the same companies then free

Lately I haven't played with BA Avios to get availability for Alaska flights to Hawaii, so I don't have any current tricks/tips.

Using 25k miles to fly to Hawaii roundtrip (from West coast) and 35k miles (from other states) are not the best use of miles anymore.

Now, it's only 15k miles (yes you read it right, only 15k miles + $11.20) to fly roundtrip to Hawaii for all of us (or at least from Texas, California, East Coast).

I need to know more details in order to give you correct advice on which card(s) to get for your upcoming large purchase. You can pm me, or email me the details (email address from my blog) about which cards you have got in the past 2 years. Dónt forget to include any Sapphire cards in the past 4 years.
