So far so good with 401k but long term Roth is suck, this is the reason I have been thinking the long term is not good, sell high and buy low would be my next target. For sure I will sell all next time then wait for crash to buy back.

FSMVX is terrible, after all these years, only gain around $600 For some, it's not a good idea for long term.

I suspect there is at least another 100+ points drop tomorrow. If that is the case, sell your house and go all-in. You are likely to double in a year or so...

I may have to put up a sign saying:
House for sale - owner needs to own stock shares [/QUOTE]

Are you somewhere out there on the street in Chicago holding a homeless sign right now anh Brainiacs?

Told myself not to look at my portfolio but couldn't resist! Sao mà nó đỏ lòm vay troi? Kieu nay chac phai work into retirement:(

Alash: chắc anh dang ngồi run đùi phai khong? Mua hom qua, hom nay nó dọt lên lai chac lời khảm đạn!

Don't worry, it's going up

I told everyone that I would sell the house when gain $250k but I didn't expect it up so fast like this so now I still keep it and don't even think to sell it until 10 more years. Friends keep pushing me to sell it and say it won't go up any more however; it keeps going up. My expect is Cali will going up for at least 5% this year but not sure for next year. Probably the same in your city since we are in the west coast.

My suggestion is keep the old house and save money for another house if you can I won't sell and buy a different house if the new one is recently built because what you sell/buy is pretty much the same except you get new house. Right now I can't buy anything unless it's under $120k which it's hard to find at this time so I am keep saving to see what going on in the next few years. In another way, I won't sell any properties either Good for renting out until the tenants are bad.

Even though, I lost a big time on last Friday and Monday, but I still donated some money to the homeless in Chicago street... Because of my generosity, that is why the market turns around and gave me some changes back Today, my stocks are showing some gains - green like grass, however I think 401k and mutual funds are still in deep holes

Should have sold my house and own stocks on Monday, now I can almost double it Yeah, yeah easier said than done...
I still need 2 more days of this week to rebound... then I am a happy player!!

Keep buying more shares when it drops, then you are in a good shape!!!

Fridays are not good for the market especially the day before holiday... I am shorting for tomorrow, let's see if I am right?

After today's green I think I am almost breaking even for the last 2 down days -- phew roller coaster!!!

That's the dilemma I'm facing. I want to keep it and rent it out but there is no handyman in the house. Cứ hở tí họ goi sửa là tốn tiền bộn. Vả lại nhà chi có 10 tuổi, mình ở giu kỷ, nen sợ rent out mà trúng bad tenant là tiêu cái nhà. Còn nêu bán thì lây tiên dó đập vô nhà moi, pay off thì khỏi phai lo lắng mortgage for long, nhung lại kho g có extra income . Ôi làm người lon sao met quá, phai suy nghĩ đử thứ.

I was born to be a gambler, whether at casino or Wall Street... There is nothing better I do besides gambling in both places

Yes, it is up/down by hundreds or thousands daily. It is depending if I am holding or not. It is more fun that way and get my work days gone by so quick...

Bac Ody,

I know your portfolio is very stable and up/down by about 1% daily. I pay attention to it, but I like the highway or no way. I can take up/down from 1% to 10% a day...

Bac Alas,
