Ha Giang Province is indeed quite beautiful like they said, with lots of fresh water running down from the surrounding mountains. I would love to show you more of the photos from this region, but not until I get home in a few days. For the meantime, a severe storm is hitting the northern region and I am temporarily stuck in a small town with the electricity here keeps going off and on for the whole day. Perhaps it is a good time to rest a little, and checking out to see if VF is still there..hehe...

For now here are a few photos I like:

Thank you, Sir. As a man in his late 50s, this is how I prefer to live the rest of my life if all possible. You could feel more alive if the things you see and touch are naturally beautiful.

Here is an image that may bring back a distant memory of your own. Were you the younger brother with the running nose or were you his cranky older sister? Guess what, he got spanking at the end probably because she wanted to wipe off his stupid happy face while riding on her back. I was not that younger brother, and I don't have an older sister. Were you?

I have a Sony a6000, nothing fancy, which I bought it last year and only recently learning how to get familiar with its basic functions. I had owned only couple pocket cameras before that. In other words, I'm definitely not the right person to talk about camera...

For the last few days as I walked for tens of miles during the day and worked till very late at night, it is now 5:40am and I had just finished crunching the numbers to meet the next deadlines. Already my mind is wondering where to go after a nap. While this is currently a living for me, there are those who I came across seem to manage their days a lot simpler here, and this is basically a whole day of work for them; everyday is simply gathering something and then sell it. They seem very calm and content with their daily routines. How are you doing with yours?

Do you know where to find a five-star hotel in a remote village? Well, welcome to my four-and-half-start hotel with a heart-warming view, and a brand new flushable toilet. Well, maybe this is not exactly a five-star hotel, but close enough. It feels like one.

Oh yeah, I am not sure if there are such words as flushable toilet, but it could be quite an extra luxurious item on the list. Even better than that, we also have hot water from 7pm to 10pm for shower, just too bad that I still have to move on after two days here.

Yeah, I can get so emotionally attached to certain places sometimes, and then the people as well after getting to know them personally. The good thing is that I don't fall in love with them, at least not so easily. I still have the feeling that I will eventually find a place to call it home.

I hope you will soon find a place you can call 'home'.

I sometimes encounter people in my life where they get too attached and makes me want to take a step back..

I think I've told you from a previous conversation that I'm from a province called Bac Lieu. And I do hold a lot of memories. From the people to some places-but mostly the home where I grew up. I lived there until I was 8. I wanted to go back there, but sadly the people whom I'm closed to are all deceased- both young and old.

My bad! Yes, you did mention Bac Lieu from the previous conversation. Ca Mau and Bac Lieu are the two places I am interested to see as well. Are there certain places or neighborhoods you would like to see again?

I also went to the neighborhoods where my family once lived, but, like in your case, I didn't find the old friends or the neighbors who once also lived there, not even sure if they are still alive.

An $800 camera obviously can produce better quality of photos than the pocket-camera. Perhaps I will invest the time to learn more about camera someday.

Oh yea. I wouldnt mind coming back to the large temple where i attended kindergarten. And coming back to the old school i attended- i heard its haunted and i remember seeing a ghost disguising as my cousin jumping out of the bushes. But most of all I'd like to go back for my uncle.. i remember he would put me on his motorcycle (front, gas tank) and take me to his house whenever he comes to visit..He and his wife would love to have a daughter.

Well, until you have a chance to go back and do all that yourself, perhaps I can help. I can check out the old temple or any other memorable places from your childhood if you wish. And if your uncle doesn't mind meeting a stranger, I would love to stop by to pay him a visit and to see how he lives his life these days.

Perhaps you would want to know my purpose in doing that, yeah? Honestly speaking, I don't have any particular reason other than hoping to find something special to capture for a few photos, and those random moments may be special to someone as well. This will be one of the few last trips before I leave Vietnam in a few months.

I would say all of the small towns and cities do have regular internet, but not in the remote villages. The villagers in the small and remote villages mostly use their 3G service to browse the internet, which I still have no idea how it works...
