how come mine ain't smooth or soft as the one in the store? got bubbles and smell like egg

any tips for me thanks


P.S. btw, i don't like to use powder or flour in my flan

Bubbles because the water was spoiled high, the gas should be low, and steam it slowly ..

To make not having egg's smell, mixed the sugar and coffee then put on the oven to thắng, dont over make, it will have bitter (đắng) taste, wait for the thing cool down, then put mixed egg + condense milk in ( You have to mix them well, but not over do, if over stir It will have bubbles when you put in the cup). steam it with low gas or use . Use foil paper to cover the cup ..

steam is too hard for me to get it right...nowadays i like baking better....350 degrees for 50 mins with water bath with foil cover and a hole for it to breath...then leave it in the oven another half hour. It should be nice and smooth....no need to preheat either.

steamming, medium low heat + open your lid every 5 mins after the water has boiled..that's my secret...

as for the smell, u need some vanilla in your mixture or lemon zest or coffee if u want coffee flan.

Just put some Cognac on it before you eat and voila` problem solved

Bánh Flan Grand Marnier


Nguyên Liệu:

3 trưng' (white+yolk)+ 3 long` dỏ (yolk) - dung` trưng' lơn'
3 Cup suã tuơi
1/2 Cup duơng`
1/4 tsp muoí
3TBS Grand Marnier (optional, neú có caí nay, nó rat' thơm và dac. biet. khong con` mot. chút muì trưng' naò
1+1/2 tsp vanilla extract or bot. vani





Cách Làm:

Bỏ sưã tươi + đường + muối vô 1 caí nồi. Rôì cho lưả medium cho đương` + muôí tan, bắt xuống để nguội.

Cho trứng vô tô đánh tan ra (đừng đánh nhiêù, bánh sẽ bị nôỉ) trộn vô sưã rôì bỏ Grand marnier + vanilla vô khuâý đêù. hơt' bọt.

Đổ bánh vô khuôn caramel, Rôì cho vô một caí khuôn lơn' bằng thiếc hoặc nhôm có ít nước âm'.

Nướng nhiệt độ 325-350 degree, 1 - 1+1/2 giờ. Lấy ra để nguôị sau đó bỏ tủ lạnh cho bánh được lạnh.

Khi ăn, đổ bánh ra diã. Nêú thích, ruơí cafe đen len. (cafe nguôị)

-tb thường dùng 1/2 sữa tươi + 1/2 condense milk recipe

-bõ tí Grand Marnier + vani thì ít bị tanh trứng ( có người xài hột coffee )

How is your school ?. Did you grad last semester ?

I shoulda be done a long time ago but becoz school tuition is so high I never take class during summer or winter intersession...i'm looking for internship right now but it's so hard to get in :( two more semesters to go. If i take summer classes then I'll be done this Fall. My bf offered to help me w/ the school fees but i refused...I don't want him to look down on me....haha even my friends gave me their money haha gosh i feel like i'm a hobo, homeless person. I won't take anyone money if it's not mine

Yeah, the tuition fee goes up next semester ~ 200 bucks, You should look for internship place earlier than 1 or 2 semester, get some experiences before grad . Most of my friends didnt get a job like a year already ..Career center will help alot, especially job fair events and connection is huge help
