- Vài tuần nửa 2 đứa nhóc em mình sẻ phải đóng mổi đứa $120.00 đế mua Bus tickets đi meeting out of state với group của tụi nó . Có ai biết nếu có chuyện gì xảy ra .. thì AMWAY có cover hay kô ?

AMWAY is just another Multi-level marketer. They usually targeted Asians community (Chinese, Korean, Indian, Filipino, Vietnamese...etc), or maybe us Asians are too stupid and greedy at the same time to believe in these multilevel marketing.

Couple red flags that you've already know that are: selling products only to themselves, unreasonable potential earning incomes, and recruiting others.

About 15 yrs ago, WMA was one of the big multi-level marketing hype in our VNese community, thousand people joined and lost thousand of dollars for nothing. One of my friend joined this WMA and I know it first hand. Tell your bros or sis don't waste their time & money, but if they insisted, let them join, so they can learn a valuable lesson in life that don't fall for sky high promises. I know my friend that joined WMA had learned his lesson real well...

My little sister and her husband were in the same boat as your friend. We'd tried - to no avail - to talk my sister out of it but she wouldn't listen. She even recruited her husband (who joined un-willingly). Now they are still dirt poor, lost tons of money with nothing to show for, their marriage broke up, and their 2 kids are parasites of society. It broke my heart because we had warned my sister not to join them, but she was too cứng đầu wá .

you're looking for scam then you got scam listings.

Amway doesn't fit definitions of scam. If you buy merchandises, you'll get it. It looks as piramid but not scam. Scam is illegal. Amway's very much legal.

Yes langbang1112, I was in the same situation as your. I had warned but to no available. Later on, when we talked about it, he said now he doesn't understand why he can be that stupid to believed in those claims and promises. He estimated that between him and about 25-30 other of his extended families, circle of friends, they had lost over $50K easily and got nothing to show. He asked me why I didn't fall for the tricks. I said, very easily, because

- How the heck on earth that a person can start making 6 figures income in a very short time regardless of level of education or without any other extraordinary skills & capabilities?

- What I observed (he did convinced me to go to one of their recruiting session) in the meeting was there are endless of self promotion, unsubstantiated claims and promises, the goal of the company is not marketing, selling the product, but rather just recruit, recruit, and recruit...... "another sucker"

After that, I had tried to talk him out, but he stucked with it for few years then finally woke up....

My co-worker invited me to his house for a free coffee from Amway, I had free coffee and only interested in his matured daughter, but I never came back for Amway membership, it is the recruiting company!

The best way to make money is find the customers who like the products then sell and buy the on sale or whole sale products, not to buy then sell if you are not rich.

I learned the best way from my mother, she had smart money to raise our family.

They were insulting my intelligence, man !!!

I have to disagree about the above statement. You may degrade yourself and that is none of anyone's business. But degrading a whole community even a community you're a part of is another story. If you claim yourself being "too stupid and greedy" and that in no way proves that you're from an Asian Ethnic. I would think twice before making statement like the one above.

A set trap doesn't care who will get entrapped, it sure doesn't know who is While or Asian. Amway has been there long enough to defraud lots of people. If you search "Amway" on the internet you'll be surprised to see that lots of people have been trapped.

I know for a fact that these scams are multiplying in the minority community, especially Asians. 2 of my friends are working in the non-profit social community services for the last 10 yrs. These scams have been causing them a lot of grief, theirs jobs is trying to help the people, but when these people are so blindly throwing their money & lives away, there is no way they can help. They just don't see these scams as much in the Somali, Nigerian, or American community in general, but very prevalent in the Asians community. I have no problem making that statement, and if you don't like it, go bite your thumb...

xi-trum, they have been brainwashed, too late to help, just hope they will wake up soon. If I was you, I would just refuse to help them. They have to find their own way to get there, and continue their "dreams" .

I had seen that in my friend, he did ended up got like 4-5 of his brothers and sisters to joined, at least 8-9 other cousins and long distance cousins, and at least 10 from the circle of friends. Most of the people that he got them joined did see the charade within a year or so and quit, but they still lost $$$ on membership fee, studying materials, etc...

Wow it's great to know what you know for a fact is everything and besides that there is nothing else. Your conclusion of an Amway program made targeted on Asian communities is adequate based on what you know for a fact, and one should consider that there should be no White people entrapped in Amway program. Well, having no problem making that type of statement just makes you who you are, I guess.

Did I said just AMWAY? My point is the multilevel marketing scams that the Asians are some how very easily falling for. Have you been to one of their recruiting session? I was there and they had the Korean recruiting session scheduled after the Vietnamese session in the same hotel, from what I saw, they were setting up one for the Chinese audience in the same week. Have you ever listen to their pitches? Like langbang1112 had said, they were insulting the listener intelligence. Granted, there were other ethic group that also got swept up in these scams, but how do you explained the ratio of recruiting sessions they scheduled for the "Asians" group to other ethic group was and even now are double or even triple, where as Asians are made up of only 5% of the U.S. population? My friend was very involved with this multilevel marketing and he said they usually have about 5-6 recruiting events just for the Asians, then maybe 1 for the Africans, 1 for the Hispanic, 1 for the American, etc... Oh, did I already said Asians are made up of only 5% of the U.S. population?

Yes, my words was harsh, but let me repeat it for you
"maybe us Asians are too stupid and greedy at the same time to believe in these multilevel marketing."

What part of the whole sentence that you don't understand?
maybe your limitation of understanding the whole English sentence from stopping you to finish the whole sentence, try to finish the second half of the sentence "to believe in these multilevel marketing" then you will know what I am implying.

Still don't get I'm trying to get across? Then it isn't my problem

Edit: Oh by the way user2, are there any chance that you're involving with AMWAY or any other Multi-level marketing, and took offense to that sentence? If you are believing in those multi-level marketing then good luck to you, but I am still standing behind my words.

Let me clarify my point:

"maybe us Asians are too stupid and greedy at the same time to believe in these multilevel marketing."

There we go. That sentence is so irritating because "us Asian" includes my parents, my whole family and all the good Asian people I've known. And your "maybe" doesn't negate "are too stupid and greedy" phrase in the sentence. If you don't care about your parents, your family to be included in that "us Asian" group, that's none of my business.

Did I illustrate the sentence enough? What else should I have tried to make you understand your own sentence better? Or it seems that you don't even understand your own word, just my thought.

Secondly, "They usually targeted Asians community"

I was invited to one of those recruiting events by a co-worker of mine who is a white dude. What I saw in there was a group mixture of races and white people were maturity. But I am humbled enough to know that what I've known, seen is never enough to make a statement just based on that as a supporting source. After searching for those MLM's I've found out there were lots of people of many races who got trapped. So your statement "They usually targeted Asians community" is hilarious.

Re-read the sentence again

"too stupid and greedy at the same time TO BELIEVE IN ...."

Do you, your parent, and your grand parent believe in these multilevel marketing? If you are, your parent & grand parent are, then I still standing behind those words. You guys are Stupid and Greedy. How about that? Do you understand now?
